2021 Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic
After a long year without the beautiful sight of colorful balloons flying over the skies of Boise, the schedule is announced for the rapidly approaching 2021 Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic.
CapEd Kids’ Day at the Spirit of Boise! Twenty balloons are expected to inflate at Ann Morrison Park in the morning. Why? Because little ones are invited to jump into the basket of one of those balloons to experience what a ride in a hot air balloon feels like!
These rides are what the balloon pilots call a “tethered ride.” Your kids won’t be floating off into the blue skies over Boise. The balloons are tied to the ground with strong ropes to prevent them from floating away.
End the summer at one of Boise's most beloved FREE family events!
Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic extend a special invitation for Media Day where twenty balloons are expected to inflate at Ann Morrison Park to offer invited Media guests the opportunity to experience hot air ballooning first hand.
These are “tethered rides” where the balloons are tied to the ground to prevent full flight. There is an optional flight to follow, all flights are weather permitting.
One of the most memorable and spectacular days of the Spirit of Boise kicks off with a morning tribute to Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic founder, Scott Spencer. This tribute launch is in honor of Scott's passion for both the hot air ballooning and Treasure Valley communities.
After the tribute launch all balloons will take flight over the skies of Boise.
The day finishes off with the Nite Glow Spectacular! A Spirit of Boise tradition of beautiful glowing balloons igniting in a synchronized light show accompanied by live music, food, and festivities.
Spirit of Boise staff and pilots gather in the wee hours before dawn to prepare for the Dawn Patrol! Taking flight at the first sign if light and high in the skies for sunrise.
